In Tuscany, early 1980s, Arthur emerges from a brief prison term, reminiscing about his past love, Beniamina, now absent. He befriends the Tombaroli, a group masquerading as farmers, who plunder ancient Etruscan tombs for valuables. Amidst this, Arthur is drawn to Italia, Flora’s maid and music student, unaware of her hidden truths.
